Contraindications to the use of the drug letrozole
Hypersensitivity to letrozole, pregnancy and lactation, severe liver disease.
Side effects of Letrozole
Usually mild to moderately severe; side effects requiring discontinuation of treatment have been reported in rare cases. Many side effects may be due to underlying disease and natural physiological consequences of oestrogen deficiency (e.g. hot flashes, thinning hair). Headache, nausea, peripheral oedema (6-7% of cases), less commonly hot flashes, hair thinning and loss, rash, vomiting, indigestion, weight gain, muscle pain, joint pain, anorexia, skin rash, in less than 2% of patients bloody discharge and vaginal bleeding, constipation, dizziness, sweating, dyspnoea, thrombophlebitis.
Special instructions for use of Letrozole
During treatment, caution should be exercised when driving and working with potentially dangerous mechanisms, as well as when performing other activities requiring increased attention.
